DO-IT 2009 |

|
1. Entries must be accompanied by full payment of fees. Money orders or certified checks should be made payable to DO-IT. Personal checks will not be accepted. 2. Men and women shall compete on an equal basis. 3. Bowlers entering the tournament must have an established ten-pin average acceptable to USBC consisting of 21 or more games in a single league. "Sport Condition" averages are not acceptable. Anyone with 21 or more games bowled in a single league (even as a substitute) must submit the highest average of all leagues bowled. The first average available (a through e below) is the only one required on the entry form under "League Average"; e.g., if you have a 2006-2007 book final average, you do not need to supply a 2005-2006, summer, or current season average. a. Highest 2006-2007 book final average from all leagues bowled. b. Highest 2005-2006 book final average. c. Highest 2007 summer league average. d. Highest current season average as of 9/26/07 (min. 21 games). e. If none of the above is available, the entering average shall be 225. |

4. Bowlers who have bowled 21 or more tournament games (not limited to IGBO tournaments) in the 12-month period prior to 10/26/2007 must report their tournament average to the registrar at the time of entry. If the tournament average is higher than the average reported under the previous rule, the tournament average shall be used as the entering average. 5. Bowlers are responsible for sending tournament average updates to the registrar that include tournaments bowled after the DO-IT entry is submitted up through 10/26/2007. Updates may be sent via email to registrar@doit-online.org. Please do not wait to submit updates until tournament registration/check-in. 6. It is the bowler’s responsibility to verify her/his average regardless of who submits the average. Averages must be verified by a copy of a final league standing sheet or a copy of the USBC book average and must clearly indicate the number of games the average is based upon. This documentation must accompany the entry and fees. Failure to use proper average shall disqualify tournament scores if submitted average is lower than actual average. All prize winnings will be awarded on the submitted average if it is higher than the actual average. 7. The tournament is limited to 28 teams or 112 bowlers. There will be no refund of bowler’s fees after entry has been accepted. Entry deadline without penalty is Friday September 14, 2007. Entries postmarked after that date must include a $10 per person penalty fee. No entries will be accepted after Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 or whenever the tournament capacity of 112 bowlers has been reached. Entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis, based on the postmark. Missing payment and/or required documentation will delay processing of the entry; the “postmark” will be reset to the date of receipt of all required materials and may result in exclusion from tournament if other complete entries are processed first. 8. Handicaps shall be based on 90% of the difference of a bowler’s entering average and 225 scratch. Negative handicaps shall not apply. 9. Bowlers may bowl only once in each event. 10. Bowlers shall not be permitted to practice on their assigned lanes on their scheduled day of bowling outside of the allotted practice period. 11. Check in time at the lanes will be thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of bowling. Late bowlers will begin in the next frame in which they are ready to bowl and prior frames will be scored zero. 12. Substitutes may be used at the tournament directors’ discretion. 13. Claims of error must be reported to the tournament directors within one (1) hour after the completion of an event. Any protest must be submitted in writing to the tournament directors within one (1) hour after the completion of the tournament bowling events. 14. In matters of dispute, the tournament director's decision is final unless an appeal is made in accordance with USBC rule 329. 15. The DO-IT 2007 committee will review any issues that may arise that are not covered by these rules. 16. DO-IT 2007 is a non-certified tournament; however, USBC tournament rules will apply except as noted above. 17. All rules are subject to change. This is update 20070329. Future updates supersede this version. Check http://doit-online.org for updates. |
